What costs will I incur if I choose to install EV charging on my property?
With our Emergent Energy owned business model, there are no costs to you as the host. This is a turn-key solution for select locations where Emergent Energy will provide the EV chargers. There is a plethora of costs which keep many business owners from entering the EV charging space, which include: site preparation, equipment, installation, electricity, software, and maintenance. By covering all of these costs, our vision is to make EV charging attainable and available for all.
I am interested in EV charging but my electrical grid is maxed out, how will I be able to power the EV chargers?
If your electrical grid is maxed out or near maxed out, we have a solution that will work independently of your current electrical grid. We will set up our own microgrid which consists of solar energy generation and battery storage, all on its own meter. With this approach we can rely on a clean renewable energy source rather than the ever-fluctuating electrical grid. If power is needed from the grid, we are able to utilize it during off-peak times and store it in our batteries for future use. Our microgrid EV charging solution provides an effective way to reduce utility costs and insulates the chargers from power outages.
My parking spaces are limited and valuable, how will you determine how many EV chargers are appropriate for my property?
Emergent Energy will work with you to provide a solution that meets the demand for EV charging that you are experiencing at your property while also making sure to preserve valued parking space for your end customers. Every property will have a different parking footprint, infrastructure, and geography, which means we will take a unique approach rather than a standardized one. Our EV chargers have dual ports, meaning one charger will occupy approximately 2 parking spaces. Depending on the size and scope of the project, our supporting electrical gear will occupy an additional 2-3 parking spaces.
Who is responsible for maintenance and repair should something go wrong with an EV charger? Do I need to have insurance coverage?
Emergent Energy will be responsible for both maintenance and repair and will cover the cost of any item that falls outside of the manufacturer’s warranty. Emergent Energy will obtain commercial general liability insurance to cover all EV charging equipment placed on your property.
